I have a Military Fitness test in 2and a half to three weeks away. I’m about 20 pounds overweight. I need to shape up fast. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone had any tips on a diet and physical exercise routine. Thanks again.

Right now i am the starting center on my varsity basketball team, however i am not in the condition that i would like to be at. Not as far as my strength and physical shape but in respect to my aerobic, running shape and that i get winded after only about 4-6 minutes in the game. I have a few schools interested in me but my coaches say that my inability to stay in the game for very long is the main reason why i have not attracted even more interest. If anyone can give me any suggestions or advice it will be greatly appreciated. I need to get into the best shape i can as soon as possible since the season is obviously already underway. Also, please give your opinion on this routine that i was thinking about to get back into shape. All of these would take place either during my one hour study hall or if they would take a little longer i would come before school. Mon) either jump rope and the ladder or run a couple of miles on the track. Tues) laps in the school pool (unless we have a game) Wed) 100m wind sprints Thur) either a mile on the track (with sprints, slides, bounds, quick feet, reverse running, and other exercises mixed in) or strength shoes on the track. Fri) rest (game day)

So i have extra 22 pounds than i should normally have, but I’m tall so i seem really fit. Anyways since I don’t really understand difference between pilates-yoga-aerobic or anythings else i used some Cindy Crawford Shape your body cd. I worked out for 3 months then stopped. Now i really wanna know what is best for losing weight, having a flat stomach, shortly being hot? I hate running, and whenever i try i barely can breath no matter how short i exercised, and my doctor said its not good for me. So I’m up to anything else. Thank you.

It seems like a case of books smarts (Reading up on all the latest diets, talking with personal trainers, taking classes on nutrition etc) vs street smarts (Learning from experience, knowing tips the book can’t teach you, knowing what works and what just sounds good on paper)Do you think out of shape people can give good fitness advice? and Why?examples to ponder on: An overweight doctor? or nutritionist? your crazy neighbor who’s tried every diet known to man?
