Cancer patients come to Nebraska from all over the world to receive expert cancer care from physicians at The Nebraska Medical Center. Now, that same expertise is available in Bellevue. In partnership with The Nebraska Medical Center, Bellevue Medical Center has opened a full-service outpatient hematology/oncology clinic and infusion center. “Our patients’ lives are so busy with visits to the doctor, lab tests and imaging studies,” said Alissa Marr, MD, medical director of the cancer center at Bellevue Medical Center. “It’s nice that we can merge all that into one location so they don’t have to spend their time moving from one facility to the next. ” The majority of general oncology patients at Bellevue Medical Center can be seen on the Bellevue campus by oncologists from the UNMC Physicians group. Patients will have access to a team of experienced cancer specialists including medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, nurse practitioners, case manager, nutritionists and social service workers to provide patients a full-service, multi-disciplinary approach to their care.
