I have stage IIIC ovarian cancer and am having blood sent off for the BRAC Analysis test because my grandmother has been battling Ovarian cancer for 12 yrs. We are pretty certain it is genetic, the next step would be to either get a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery as prevention from getting breast cancer as the 2 cancers are hand in hand, or “watchful waiting” is what the docs call it. But, as I am only 33 I dont care for the watchful waiting approach. My question is: What are the statistics of women with ovarian cancer getting breast cancer later?
