Stephen Colbert has declared: “Obamacare is dead!” Pillorying everyone from CNN’s Jeff Toobin to Papa Bear Bill O’Reilly Colbert took on the terminal state of the health care bill . . . according to many in the media (except Slate’s own Emily Ba. The Supreme Court has just heard opening arguments this week [[include Slate link?]] about the constitutionality of President Obama’s landmark legislation, including the legality of an individual mandate, causing some pundits to make premature predictions?which Colbert of course revels in celebrating. The Supreme Court is far from making any decisions on the bill yet, and many speculate deliberation could extend until June. But don’t expect the media to be patient; there will be plenty of dramatic headlines to fill the airwaves in the coming months. The best ones, of course, may come from Comedy Central.
