  3. I’ve been taking protein shakes for well over two years now and would recommend it to anyone. Protein is vital in not only growing to muscular size you want to achieve, but also a paramount necessity in losing weight. Protein is the building block of muscles, the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Unless you want to eat nothing but chicken breasts and albacore tuna, I would strongly urge you to start downing protien shakes.

    Another good tip about protien; when working out for muscular gain, or weight loss, you should be ingesting as many grams of protien for every pound of body weight.

  4. Not as long as you stay hydrated. Not drinking enough water and in taking a lot of protein can stress your kidneys. But, there really isn’t any need for protein powders.

    Everyone raves about whey protein which is just isolated from milk, so drinking more milk will have the same effect. If I were you I’d just drink a big glass of milk or two (skim) with every meal and eat lots of lean meat like fish, chicken, and pork. Tastes better, costs less, and has all the benefits of the powder plus additional vitamins and minerals.

  5. No, but unless you are lifting weight big time. Your body is not going to have anything to do with all that aditional protein….Its not like it is going to turn itself into muscle, unless you are a pro. aditional protein intake is retarded.
