Philisophical question about best feeling possible?

So I got to thinking the other day, which is exactly the best feeling that is humanly possible. I came to the conclusion that it is relief. Think of all the feelings of our society’s values. Sex is, at best, the culmination to be ejaculation to be relief from internal pressure. Getting high or drunk is a relief of your ordinary state. Forgiveness is to relieve an emotional burden to put on your consciousness. Take a large shit and piss is often said that you relieve. People who are in near-death experiences or who are in the midst of a hurricane or tornado feel relief when it’s finished and everybody is OK. The relief of stress and anxiety imposed by the storm. Being rich is to relieve poverty or have less money. Eating is the alleviation of hunger. Am I right? Any thoughts or comments?

  3. The problem with relief is that it is the absence of something aversive. It is “negative reinforcement.” There can’t be relief without something to be relieved from. It is literally beating your head against a wall because it feels so good when you stop! In my mind, love is the best feeling possible.
